Attendees will have the chance to explore the school’s diverse programs\, watch hands-on demonstrations\, take part in educational stations\, and interactive displays. Some activities include: \n\nLocal fire departments decorating their trucks in festival holiday themes\nDirt track race teams showcasing their race cars\nHot cocoa and treats donated by Stewart’s Shops\nCookie making station\, hosted by our Culinary program\nA special “Schoolville” display\, a Who-ville inspired creation built by Questar III BOCES students\nA “Holidays Around the World” room\, where visitors can learn about holiday traditions from different cultures and countries\nAnd more!\n\nHoliday House is designed to give back to the community. Participation is encouraged with a suggested donation of $5\, though all are welcome to attend regardless of a monetary contribution. DESCRIPTION:Parents of students interested in attending Questar III’s New Visions: Medical program for the 2024 – 2025 school year are invited to join us for a Parent Information Night at 7pm on January 10th on Zoom! This is a chance to learn more about the program\, meet the teacher\, and learn about the enrollment process. \nThe Questar III New Visions programs provide high school seniors with valuable insight into career options from a real-world perspective. A 1-year\, honors-level program\, New Visions turns area businesses\, healthcare facilities\, and government buildings into classrooms for highly motivated\, academically successful students. \nDuring this half-day program\, New Visions students learn and explore through mentoring\, internships\, interaction with professionals\, group discussion\, and creative projects. Each program provides specific 12th-grade course requirements and the opportunity to earn college credits. \nOur Medical program is based at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. This program allows students to explore a wide variety of careers and specialty areas in the medical field through first-hand experience and related college coursework. This course is ideal for students planning to pursue a clinical health profession that requires a minimum of 4 years of college. Offered in partnership with St. Peter’s Health Partners\, Hudson Valley Community College\, and Russell Sage College\, this program provides valuable college preparation for students through rigorous courses including college Anatomy and Physiology.
