This is a chance to learn more about the program\, meet the teacher\, and learn about the enrollment process. \nThe Questar III New Visions programs provide high school seniors with valuable insight into career options from a real-world perspective. A 1-year\, honors-level program\, New Visions turns area businesses\, healthcare facilities\, and government buildings into classrooms for highly motivated\, academically successful students. \nDuring this half-day program\, New Visions students learn and explore through mentoring\, internships\, interaction with professionals\, group discussion\, and creative projects. Each program provides specific 12th-grade course requirements and the opportunity to earn college credits. \nOur Business\, Finance\, and Marketing program is based at Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson. This program focuses on providing students with a comprehensive overview of the fields of business\, finance\, and marketing\, giving exposure to various career options available with businesses both in the private and public sectors. Students will use critical thinking\, oral\, and written communication\, creativity\, innovation\, collaborations\, problem-solving\, cultural literacy\, and interpersonal skills throughout the year. A 1-year\, honors-level program\, New Visions turns area businesses\, healthcare facilities\, and government buildings into classrooms for highly motivated\, academically successful students. \nDuring this half-day program\, New Visions students learn and explore through mentoring\, internships\, interaction with professionals\, group discussion\, and creative projects. Each program provides specific 12th-grade course requirements and the opportunity to earn college credits. \nOur Scientific Research and World Health program is based at UAlbany’s Health Sciences Campus in Rensselaer. This program allows students to explore cutting-edge biomedical research and pressing health concerns. Students engage with scientists and public health professionals from academic\, private industry\, and governmental agencies. They ask research questions while exploring problems in health and biomedicine\, presenting their work at a professional level. Students learn how scientific principles are utilized to understand and cure diseases. DESCRIPTION:Parents of students interested in attending Questar III’s New Visions: Emergency Preparedness\, Informatics\, Cyber\, and Homeland Security (EPICH) program for the 2024 – 2025 school year are invited to join us for a Parent Information Night at 7pm on January 17th on Zoom! This is a chance to learn more about the program\, meet the teacher\, and learn about the enrollment process. \nThe Questar III New Visions programs provide high school seniors with valuable insight into career options from a real-world perspective. A 1-year\, honors-level program\, New Visions turns area businesses\, healthcare facilities\, and government buildings into classrooms for highly motivated\, academically successful students. \nDuring this half-day program\, New Visions students learn and explore through mentoring\, internships\, interaction with professionals\, group discussion\, and creative projects. Each program provides specific 12th-grade course requirements and the opportunity to earn college credits. \nOur EPICH program is based at UAlbany’s ETEC Building in Albany. This program introduces students to the necessary content and skills in emerging technologies and the use of data to anticipate and manage natural and man-made disasters and security. Students will confront the challenges of the 21st century becoming the next generation of leaders. This program is designed to provide students with a strong understanding of modern-day technology and the relationship it has with society. Students learn beyond the classroom through experiential components\, including visiting local intelligence hubs\, meeting professionals in the field\, and through threat simulations where students problem-solve and position resources in real-time to protect and save lives.
