The Tech Valley High School Operating Board and officials with Questar III and Capital Region BOCES thanked longtime TVHS Operating Board member Nancy Knabbe, who retired from the board in July.
The board adopted a resolution at the July 22 meeting thanking the Ghent resident for her service to the board since its inception in 2006.
The board thanked her for “her tireless efforts for the advancement of Tech Valley High School.”
Board member Sandra Beloncik added that Knabbe “is a wonderful lady.”
Knabbe served on the board as one of five representatives of the Questar III BOCES Board of Education. A successor to the TVHS board is expected to be named in the near future. When full, the TVHS Operating Board has 10 members, five from each of the BOCES.
Knabbe has been a member of the Questar III BOCES Board of Education since 1996. She has served on the strategic planning committee and participated in many of the learning conferences provided for local school board members. She served for 25 years on the Chatham School Board, starting in 1975 and spent seven years as president and three years as vice president of that board.
She was also an active member of the Columbia County School Board Association for 25 years, including six years as president of the organization. She previously served on the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) Rural School Committee, BOCES Ad Hoc Committee and the Distinguished Service Committee.
