Aviation program receives donated aircraft
Dr. Ralph Oles recently donated a Katana Diamond 20 Aircraft to Questar III. The aircraft, which is fully airworthy, has been used by students in the Questar III Aviation program for several years.
Oles indicated that since he has not been able to fly as much as he once did, he wanted Questar III students to continue to use the plane in their instruction.
As an aviator and aviation enthusiast, Oles said he is committed to the future of aviation and wanted students to have access to an excellent training aircraft.
“I believe in aviation and the promise that it holds for our future. When students have the right equipment and are trained well, we all benefit from the additional safety and access our society has to carefully trained aviators,” Oles said.
Started in September 2002, Questar III’s two-year Aviation program is the only high school flight training program located in the Capital District. It is based in Hudson, NY and run in partnership with Richmor Aviation.
