In an age when technology expedites the flow and exchange of information, there still remains a need to send items by delivery. This is where couriers Malcolm Hoyt and Dick McCarthy play an often unheralded, but much-needed role at Questar III.
McCarthy and Hoyt help to bridge the flow of mail, supplies, equipment and other items between Questar III and school buildings in three counties. Constantly on the go, they serve the wide geographical reaches of Questar III’s service region, from the Vermont border to the mountains of Greene County (their work is limited to Questar III sites during the summer months).
Few people in the organization can match the level of interaction they have each and everyday with building staff and teachers in the field. Their primary duties involve deliveries or transportation of just about anything that needs to be moved from the organization’s warehouse to districts, or from district-to-district.
They also transport Regents exams and help Deb Markell pick up textbooks in the spring and deliver them in the fall.
Markell said their service is impeccable. “Whenever I ask Dick or Malcolm to make a delivery or pickup at any location, they go without hesitation. They are eager to help anyone at anytime. Questar III is fortunate to have them working here, and I am thankful to work with them,” she said.
