A group of Questar III students, staff and their friends and families participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Albany’s Washington Park on Oct. 16. The fundraising event has been a Questar III tradition since 2000.
In total, Questar III raised $870 to support life-saving research, education, patient support and advocacy programs to defeat breast cancer.
Lisa Baron’s cosmetology classes at Rensselaer Educational Center raised $570 by doing pink hair extensions at their school and Tech Valley High School.
The “Questars,” led by Jean Van Epps and Gladys Cruz raised more than $200 through private donations, donated soda cans and a denim day held at the central office.
Since 1993, nearly 7 million walkers have raised more than $400 million to help fight breast cancer.
