Questar III’s Arlene Sampson received the Friend of NYSOMA award in recognition of her contributions to the regional and state Odyssey of the Mind program over the past 10 years.
Sampson, who oversees Odyssey of the Mind, arts in education and grant writing for Questar III, received the award at the state competition held in Binghamton on March 31.
In recognizing Sampson, the New York State Odyssey of the Mind Association (NYSOMA) said that she “clearly goes above and beyond and motivates others to do the same.”
Over the past 10 years, Sampson has worked tirelessly to grow the Odyssey program. This year, a record 12 primary school teams competed in the regional tournament.
