Questar III New Visions students Belle Morizio from Averill Park CSD and Emily Kopaskie from Rensselaer CSD took first place for their collaborative photography project titled “Alter Ego.”
The 25th anniversary celebration of the Questar III High School Invitation Art Exhibit was held Tuesday, April 8, 5 to 7 p.m., at the Art Center of the Capital Region in Troy. The exhibit will run April 5-18.
The Questar III High School Invitational Art Exhibit began in 1989 as a way to encourage the development and exchange of arts programming for schools in the region. The program was also designed to encourage student participation in our schools’ arts programming, to provide students with authentic feedback on their artistic endeavors and to promote strong, public support for the arts in our schools. Over the years the exhibit was held at the Questar III offices in Castleton, the Marvin Library at Hudson Valley Community College and, for the past three years, at the WMHT studios in North Greenbush.

Hoosic Valley senior Lauren Madigan took second place for her charcoal piece titled “What Defines Me.”
The juror for this year’s anniversary exhibition is Tara Fracalossi, Director of Hudson Valley’s Teaching Gallery. Most recently the project coordinator for the New York State Museum, Fracalossi was also gallery directory and instructor at the Arts Center of the Capital Region. Fracalossi’s selection as juror for this exhibit has special meaning as she worked closely with the High School Invitational Exhibit during its Hudson Valley years.
