Kathleen Renna, a senior at Tamarac High School who attends Questar III’s New Visions Scientific Research & World Health Program, took first place at the Capital District Brain Bee held at The Albany School of Public Health on February 29.

Renna_BrainBeeRenna competed against students from across the region, answering questions about the brain and neuroscience.  She was awarded $1,000 from Martin, Harding and Mazzotti to support her participation in the National Brain Bee Competition in Baltimore from March 18 – 20.

The Brain Bee is an international competition offered by the Society for Neuroscience.  Local chapters around the country send their winners to the national competition and the US winner will compete against students from around the world in Copenhagen this summer.
