Danielle Remillard is Coordinator of Behavioral Interventions at Rensselaer Academy

What is your role here at Questar III, and where do you work?

I am the Coordinator of Behavioral Interventions at Rensselaer Academy.

How long have you worked here?
I have worked here since September 2015.

How do you see your role in supporting the BOCES and the school districts it supports?
My role is to teach students the skills to be happy, independent and contributing members of their community. I support teachers and staff by providing behavioral management techniques and instructional strategies.

What is your background like – previous jobs, your education, etc.?
I have my bachelors degree in History and Psychology from Binghamton University and my masters degree in School Psychology from Plattsburgh State University. I also have my Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

I previously worked as a school psychologist for 6 years in Peru, NY. I also coached Cross Country and Track and Field.

What do you like most about your job?
My favorite part of my job is working with the students at RA. It is wonderful to see the strides they make in their personal and educational lives. I work with incredibly caring and professional people at RA. I feel very lucky and I look forward to coming to work every day.

Tell us a bit about your life outside of Questar III.
I come from a large family and grew up on a large dairy farm in upstate New York. I’m an avid lover of the outdoors. I love to ski, mountain bike and run. I’m very excited to run the Ragnar Relay in Utah and the New York City Marathon this year. I love to promote healthy and active lifestyles. I am very blessed to have incredible family and friends.
