On January 25, business representatives from Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene Counties gathered at Columbia-Greene Educational Center in Hudson for Questar III’s fourth annual Consultant Committee breakfast.
After a meal provided by Culinary Arts/Intro to Foods students, consultant committees for each of the Career & Technical Education and Career Studies programs met to discuss industry trends, required skills and the future of each field.
Work-Based Learning Coordinator Joan Rogers said the success of Questar III’s CTE and Career Studies programs depends on the participation of business partners.
“Consultant Committees keep faculty apprised of business and industry needs, provide educational opportunities for students including field trips, guest speakers, job shadows and/or internships, and assist Questar III in planning and implementing relevant CTE programs,” Rogers said.
These business members include local business owners, parents, directors of chambers of commerce, community college and university instructors ranging from programs in aviation to welding. The annual meetings are also required by the New York State Department of Education to receive program re-certification.
Questar III would like to again thank all the members of our Consultant Committees who provide such important knowledge to our students through their expertise in their fields.
