The State Aid Office forwarded the 2019-20 & 2020-21 school year waiver approval listing, as per 8 CRR 175.5 (n) to State Aid Designees on March 16, 2021. This waiver covers shortfalls in instructional hours for the 2019-20 and/or 2020-21 school years due to the COVID-19 crisis or pursuant to Education Law §3604(7).
This waiver applies to the annual instructional hour requirement. Minimum session days must be waived by legislative action. Chapter 107 of 2020 provided a waiver for minimum session days for the 2019-20 school year.
The State Aid Office will offer another waiver application in 2021-22 SAMS for districts who may need the instructional time waiver for the 2020-21 school year due to COVID related issues in meeting the hourly requirement as set forth in CRR 175.5(c).
