As a reminder, districts and BOCES who are looking to begin a summer special education (Extended School Year) program or modify an existing approval must receive SED approval in order to run such programs, and to potentially generate state reimbursement under Section 4408 of Education Law.
An application for both new programs and/or modifications to existing approvals is due to SED no later than June 1, 2021 and is located here. Note: modification applications are not required of public schools or BOCES to increase or decrease the number of classes at currently approved staff/student ratios.
