The STAC and Medicaid recently mailed one, two or three ‘20% Verified Chargeback Listings’ for the summers 2016, 2017 and/or 2018 which were all run on 7/14/21 to Superintendents of Public Schools or Official Designees. The listings show any Office for Pupils with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) Chapter 47, 66 or 721 and Commissioner’s Appointment Section 4201 students for whom you were identified as the ‘District of Current Location’ – where the parent(s) or legal guardian of those children resided at the start of summers 2016, 2017 and/or 2018. Note: years 2016 and 2017 were only mailed if there was a change since it was previously calculated on 7/8/20.

The 20% chargeback amounts listed in these reports were recouped for most districts as ‘20% Chargeback Adjustments’ at the bottom of their 2020 Summer Section 4408 Approved Payment Report (APR) #02 for Education and Maintenance, which was run on July 21, 2020.

Reminder: In the summer, the ‘District of Current Location’ can change from one year to the next, if the parents move. The district could be different from the ‘District of Origin’ legally and fiscally responsible for the 10-month OPWDD Chapter 47, 66 and 721 placements, which remains the same, even if the parents have moved to another school district.
