William Yarberry

Questar III BOCES is excited to welcome William Yarberry as its new New Visions: STEM instructor for the 2021-22 school year. Yarberry brings a wealth of experience and a love for science to the program.

Yarberry attended Texas A&M University in College Station where he earned an undergraduate degree in both physics and mathematics. He returned to college in 2017 to earn his master’s degree in materials science/nanoengineering from Rice University in Houston, Texas.

Prior to earning his master’s degree, Yarberry worked in high schools in both Texas and California as an AP Physics teacher. Yarberry worked for Schlumberger, an oilfield services company, as a research engineer where he worked on simulations of shaped charge detonations after graduating with his master’s.

Yarberry is thrilled to begin working with our New Visions: STEM students this fall.

“I’m looking forward to working with students from the surrounding districts and sharing my passion for science and technology,” said Yarberry. “I can’t wait to get back into teaching after being out for two years.”

In his spare time, Yarberry enjoys 3D printing, woodworking, building electronics/robotics, and anything else that allows him to be crafty. Yarberry also enjoys martial arts, specifically Shotokan karate. Prior to moving to New York, Yarberry volunteered as a karate instructor at the Perry Family YMCA in League City, Texas.
