Questar III was part of the region’s largest back to school expo on September 10. Questar III joined Capital Region BOCES, Tech Valley High School, Time Warner Cable and others to provide hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) activities to students and parents.
Visitors to Questar III’s booth took to the skies using Microsoft Flight Simulator, a program that’s inspired thousands of young gamers to pursue real-life flight training. Questar III teacher John Mahony, a certified pilot and instructor with over 30 years of experience, spoke to students and parents about careers in aviation and the science, technology, engineering and math associated with them. Bernie Watt, a senior in Questar III’s aviation program, helped students navigate the flight training software.
The event featured entertainment, exhibitions, giveaways and celebrity appearances by Noah Munck (Gibby on iCarly), the Cat in the Hat and Super Why. Please visit backtoschoolexpo.com for more information.
