Questar III’s Wellness Committee organized employees to participate in the Color Me Rad 5K at the Altamont Fairgrounds in September. Runners began the race as pure as the driven snow in white t-shirts and were color bombed throughout the race leaving their clothes, faces and bodies as colorful as a rainbow.

A portion of the proceeds from Color Me Rad went to the Special Olympics New York. This non-profit organization is important to Questar III faculty and staff as it provides the opportunity for children and adults with intellectual disabilities to participate in year round sports and athletic competitions. Participation in the program helps individuals improve their physical fitness, experience joy, form relationships, and develop confidence and a positive self-image, all of which have a direct correlation with student success at school.

Questar III’s Pamela Mertz enjoyed spending time with her co-workers outside of the office.

“It was so much fun to be with my fellow Questar III employees. The event was a blast and it was great to be supporting such an important cause,” she said.

The Wellness Committee intends to promote employee wellness through activities, the dissemination of information, and communication of upcoming events. New members are always welcome!
