Questar III’s Culinary Arts teacher Chef Peter Desmond was honored as the Teacher of the Month by local radio station 98.5 The Cat.
First year culinary student, Alicia Oliveri from Hudson High School, nominated Chef Desmond in a letter she sent to the radio station.

“He is nice and a good teacher. I thought he would appreciate it,” Oliveri said of nominating Chef Desmond. “His face was priceless when he realized he won.”
Chef Desmond was unaware he was even nominated until radio host Bill Williams surprised him in his classroom with a plaque and a $50 gift certificate to La Conca D’Oro in Catskill from Sawyer Chevrolet. Chef and Oliveri both received tickets to Fairview Cinema 3, cakes from Hooked on Desserts in Catskill and radio station prizes. Oliveri also received a Subway gift card.
“It was a very nice surprise and an honor to be recognized,” Chef Desmond said.
