Sarah’s Sisters will hold an open house on Tuesday, February 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Esteves School of Education on the Russell Sage College campus in Troy. Click here to learn more.
Questar III is launching a new special education initiative that starting in September 2014 will provide special needs students with a college experience aimed at helping them transition to life after high school.
Sarah’s Sisters is a collaborative program between Questar III and the Sage Colleges (Russell Sage College and the Esteves School of Education) for male and female students ages 18-21 from Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene Counties.
Students currently enrolled in a high school program and with an interest in attending college will have the opportunity to attend the full-day, two-year program on the Russell Sage College Campus in Troy. Here they will participate in the instruction of life skills, attend a college-level course and participate in work-based learning. They will be assigned a student mentor from Russell Sage and will have access to the college facilities (i.e. gym, library, cafeteria, etc.).
Initially, the class size will be no more than six students with one teacher and one teaching assistant.
