chad-goodfellowChad Goodfellow is the new Director of Technology at Questar III BOCES.

Q: What is your role at Questar III

A: I supervise the internal IT staff that supports Questar III as well as the staff that supports districts. I am responsible for planning and budgeting to get everyone’s technology needs met.

Q: What are some of your goals as the new Director of Technology?

A: A goal of mine is to achieve a higher degree of organization and flexibility. For example, we want to be able to provide districts with the services they need at a competitive price. Internally, I hope to allow my staff to multi-task and to share tasks between them.

Q: How do you see your position helping to meet the needs of districts?

A: As district budgets get smaller and IT people become more and more in demand, I am confident that our service is an affordable option. We can help with state aid and other grants to offer a high-level service for a fraction it would cost with someone else.

Q: What is your background like?

A: I was the Director of IT at the Windham-Ashland-Jewett CSD for the past five years. Prior to that position I spent 20 years at Stiefel Laboratories. I have an A.A.S. in Information Technology from Hudson Valley Community College.

Q: What is your favorite thing about your new role thus far?

A: It’s great having a fresh start at Questar III. I am excited to have a staff again. We have six full-time employees, two interns and we’re looking to hire another person.

Q: Tell us about your life outside of Questar III.

A: I live in Freehold with my wife. I have a 22-year-old son and a 19 year-old daughter, both of whom received 4.0 GPAs last semester. They are my greatest accomplishment. I also spending time in nature; I am actually an outdoorsy person believe it or not!
