Questar III BOCES is preparing for the launch of its annual book study series later this fall in response to positive feedback about offerings during the 2014-2015 school year.
Nearly 40 people attended one of the book studies offered by Questar III last school year. The vast majority of those responding to the evaluation survey said the experience was valuable. In fact, 96 percent of survey respondents agreed or strongly agreed that the content was relevant to their day-to-day work and the book facilitator encouraged dialogue.
Questar III District Superintendent Dr. Gladys I. Cruz said the book study series helps to promote learning and dialogue across the tri-county region – one of the goals of Questar III’s strategic plan.
“Hearing from others can provide a different perspective and open you up to new insights or ideas. This is one of the reasons why we offer this professional development experience – to not only give individuals a chance for personal reflection and development but also to allow people to work across departments, buildings and school districts,” said Cruz.
Please contact Debbie Rozniewski at drozniewski@questar.org if you have any work-related books you may want to read or lead with your colleagues. Book selections for the 2015-2016 school year will be announced in the coming months. They will also be available to employees from our local school districts.
