Questar III students volunteering as "fans in the stands"Students from Questar III’s Rensselaer Educational Center in Troy recently volunteered to be “fans in the stands” at the New York State Fall Special Olympics in Glen Falls October 21-22.

Fourteen students from the school’s SkillsUSA leadership program gave up their Saturday to cheer on 1,000 athletes from across New York State. This was the first time Glens Fall hosted this statewide competition, which included events in bocce, cross country, cycling, equestrian, golf, soccer and softball.

SkillsUSA Adviser Danny Ramirez said he was proud Questar III was part of this special occasion. Despite being smaller than most host cities, Glens Falls attracted more than 1,000 volunteers – the largest outpouring organizers said they ever saw.

In addition to the 14 students, Questar III’s group included Ramirez, Advisor Teresa Mills, Principals Anthony DeFazio and Tracy Racicot, and friends and family.
