Marilyn Noonan of Catskill received the G. Lucius Cary Annual Service Leadership Award at Questar III’s annual meeting on April 6.
The G. Lucius Cary Annual Service Leadership Award is presented in recognition of outstanding leadership and contributions through volunteer service which are reflective of the values and beliefs of Questar III. The award, the organization’s highest honor, is a tribute to G. Lucius Cary, a former board member at Questar III.
Nonnan has served on Questar III’s Board of Education since 1988. Over the past 23 years, she helped lead the organization through extensive changes that have made its operation more transparent and responsive to component school districts. In addition to the Questar III Board of Education, she also serves on the Tech Valley High School Operating Board.
Noonan is also a former member of the Catskill Board of Education, where she served for 16 years (including four years as board president). In addition, she has also served on the Greene County School Boards Association.
Now retired, Noonan previously served as executive assistant for New York State Professional Firefighters, International Association of Firefighters, where she worked closely with statewide leaders, including members of the New York State Legislature and their staffs.
