Joseph Markham (Taconic Hills) placed 3rd in the HVAC competition

Students from Questar III’s CTE programs competed at the 2016 SkillsUSA State Competition at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse April 27-29. This is the 12th year Questar III students have finished in the top three statewide. To advance to the state competition, students must place in the top five in their program at the regional competition

The SkillsUSA competition, judged by industry professionals, tests technical and professional skills through hands-on and written contests including construction, information technology and welding among others.

Students from Columbia-Greene Educational Center (CGEC) in Hudson and Rensselaer Educational Center (REC) in Troy competed against more than 2,300 students from 83 trade and technical schools. Over 1,000 industry partners attended the 49th annual event and served as contest chairs and judges.

Congratulations to both Questar III students who earned awards at the state competition and to all who competed!
