Jodi Rossman

Rossman will present two sessions on TCI/TCIS at an international conference in Lake George, NY.

Questar III Behavior Specialist Jodi Rossman will be presenting two sessions at the Residential Child Care Project’s fourth international conference, “Building a Community of Practice” June 21-24 in Lake George. Rossman is also a Professional Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Trainer, and holds training sessions for Questar III staff as well as district teaching staff required to have TCI training.

The session titled “TCIS/TCI Beyond OER: Using ‘Modern Media’ to engage and teach TCI ideas and strategies” will discuss the use of freely available videos, documents, and materials to teach TCI beyond the “traditional” training materials.

Rossman will also co-present a second session with Questar III Network Systems Engineer Carissa Sears, “TCIS and Questar III Strategic Plan” and will discuss how TCIS (TCI for Schools) fits into Questar III’s Strategic Plan requiring professionally driven development establishing a professional common language. This requires a multi-channel feedback structure, and will discuss the role of the IT department in quantifying that feedback.

“The work I am presenting on is not my work alone; it is the work of my trainers, my amazing staff, administrators, and colleagues. I have had such support, guidance, critique, and engagement. To me, this is also an example of what we are doing, and showing others excellence in the field,” Rossman said.

Rossman works within all of Questar III’s special education and CTE classrooms, and consults for its component districts. She develops training to teach needed information regarding mental health and strategies that can be incorporated within the classroom to support behavioral student success.
