
The Questar III Board of Education appointed Jennifer Chatain Director of School Improvement at its meeting September 8.
Questar III BOCES is pleased to announce the hiring of Jennifer Chatain as the organization’s new Director of School Improvement.
In her role she will provide leadership and oversight of all Questar III school improvement programs and initiatives.
Chatain said she is excited to join the BOCES.
“I look forward to working with school districts across the region and state. One of my goals is to build relationships to help districts improve student learning and achievement,” Chatain said.
Chatain joins Questar III with more than 20 years of experience as a school administrator and classroom teacher in our region.
For the past two years, she served as the principal at the Central Park K-8 School in the Schenectady CSD. In this role she managed all day-to-day operations of the school serving 700 students.
Prior to this, she spent five years working as the principal at St. Kateri Parish School in Schenectady. While at St. Kateri, Chatain initiated a literacy and math program to help teachers implement the Common Core Learning Standards.
Chatain previously served as an assistant principal at the Albany Preparatory School and New Covenant Charter School, and as an elementary teacher in Troy CSD.
Questar III Deputy Superintendent Matt Sloane said Chatain is a welcomed addition to the organization.
“We are fortunate to add Jennifer to our strong School Improvement team. Her skills and experience will help strengthen and expand our services across the region and state,” said Sloane.
Chatain has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a master’s degree in education administration and policy studies from the University at Albany.
