Questar III’s New Visions: Scientific Research & World Health program held its annual Student Poster day at the University at Albany’s Health Sciences Campus in Rensselaer on June 7.
The Annual Student Poster Day is the culmination of a comprehensive 30-page research paper using peer reviewed journal articles. It is also an opportunity for the students to share their work with others, including parents, alumni, future students, staff from the Health Sciences Campus and school leaders.
Each of the 13 students created a poster on a specific topic of their choice. This included cancer, ADHD, traumatic brain injury, antidepressants and local air pollution. As part of the project, students identified specific health concerns and investigated the various biological, behavioral, environmental and social factors that affect those issues.
This highly selective, college level academic experience offers hands-on laboratory research in the emerging biotechnologies, scientific literacy and global health. For more information, please visit https://old.questar.org/education/career-tech-ed/scientificresearch.php.
