Students meet potential employers

Local healthcare facilities were invited to attend a Career Information Day for CNA and LPN students at Questar III’s Rensselaer Educational Center. The Career Information Day provides students with an opportunity to learn about different careers and to network with professionals who are currently working in the healthcare field.

Turning Army labs into classrooms

Students from Questar III’s New Visions: Science, Technology, Engineering and Technology (STEM) program helped turn Army laboratories at the Watervliet Arsenal into classrooms on April 25. The purpose of the visit was to give students a firsthand look at the role science and technology have in the development of military weapon systems.

Questar III District Superintendent James N. Baldwin announced the formation of a new virtual alliance to advance science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education in our region on April 23.

Culinary students win third place

Culinary Arts students from Questar III’s Columbia-Greene Educational Center won third place in the 2012 New York State Prostart Student Invitational in Niagara Falls, earning $5,500 in scholarships.
