Businesses work with QIII for students

On January 27, more than 100 area business people convened at Questar III’s Columbia-Greene Educational Center to discuss curriculum and work-based learning opportunities for students in career and technical education (CTE) programs.

Counselors host annual career day

More than 1,000 tenth and eleventh grade students from high schools in Columbia and Greene Counties attended the 28th Annual Career Day at the Columbia Greene Community College (CGCC) in Hudson on January 10. In addition, many Questar III BOCES staff members served as panelists in the various career forums.

Students gain local employment

Three students at Questar III’s Columbia-Greene Educational Center (CGEC) have recently become employed at the new A&W Restaurant in Hudson.

The International Center for Workforce and Personal Development is offering numerous Community and Adult Education courses this spring. The diverse selection of courses will be held at Columbia-Greene Educational Center (CGEC) and Rensselaer Educational Center (REC).

Chef honored as Teacher of the Month

Questar III’s Culinary Arts teacher Chef Peter Desmond was honored as the Teacher of the Month by local radio station 98.5 The Cat.

First year culinary student, Alicia Oliveri from Hudson High School, nominated Chef Desmond in a letter she sent to the radio station.
