Exploring careers in health care

Questar III’s Careers in Health Care, formerly known as Health and Emergency Medical Careers, is a one year program for high school seniors interested in learning about a variety of high demand health and emergency medical careers before entering college.

Students explore aviation careers

Students in Questar III’s Columbia-Green Educational Center’s Aviation program recently visited Albany International Airport and Schenectady County Airport. The students received a tour of the Radar Room and Aviation Tower at Albany International Airport and a tour of the Schenectady Tower at Schenectady Airport.

Students receive hands on experience

Two students from Questar III took part in a three-day immersion program at National Grid facilities to help them gain a realistic understanding of the utility industry in which they might one day be employed.

Counselors hold Career Day

More than 1,200 tenth and eleventh grade students from every high school in Columbia and Greene Counties attended the 27th Annual Career Day at the Columbia Greene Community College in Hudson on January 4.

Core skills can help fill jobs

Far too many high school students graduate unprepared for college or work, and far too many good jobs go unfilled every year. Two recent news items point to the need for public education, business and others to work together and to respond to our changing workplace and economy.

Students honor local veterans

Questar III’s Rensselaer Educational Center (REC) and Columbia-Greene Educational Center (CGEC) each hosted their 9th annual Veterans Day Luncheon to celebrate and honor our local veterans for their service to our country.
