As is the nature of the BOCES, Questar III’s Grant Writing Service provides a partnership approach to seek out and apply for funding opportunities on behalf of participating school districts. These grants often result in the district having the ability to create new programs thus expanding the educational opportunities for students.
Questar III BOCES has been awarded a 10-month grant under New York State’s virtual learning initiative, the Virtual Advanced Placement (VAP) Program, Round II. The grant will expand access to Advanced Placement (AP) and pre-AP classes and exams in participating component districts. This will allow more low-income students to prepare for college and careers. Questar III was awarded $534,261 in Race to the Top funds to develop online and blended courses.
Students participating in the Tech Valley Summer Camp spent the day at Questar III’s Rensselaer Educational Center (REC) learning about renewable green technologies, and aviation, in preparation for their last day of camp where they spent the day on the third floor Observation deck at Albany International Airport, followed by the camp closing ceremony.
