Students advance to state competition

More than 600 students from Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene counties competed in Questar III’s Regional Odyssey of the Mind Tournament on March 10. Fifteen teams advanced to the team competition on March 31.

Choices not easy in school mergers

With the goal of reducing costs and increasing opportunities for students, the Ichabod Crane and Schodack Central School Districts are participating in a Reorganization Feasibility Study.

The first phase of the study began in May 2011 with the creation of a Community Advisory Committee. This group of 30 residents, representing each community equally, has met every few weeks to examine data about the districts and provide input for each district’s Board of Education.

Questar III receives state grant

Questar III will receive funding as part of the $62.7 million in economic development funding awarded to the Capital Region on Dec. 8.
