The Questar III Board of Education appointed Dr. Gladys I. Cruz as district superintendent at its April 16th meeting. Effective May 1, 2015, Cruz will serve a dual leadership role – acting as both a field representative of the commissioner of education and chief executive officer of the Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES).
Hello, I am Jim Dexter, the District Superintendent of Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex (WSWHE) BOCES. I wanted to give you an update on Questar III’s search for a new leader.
As you may know, Commissioner John King appointed me to assist the Questar III Board of Education with its search for a new District Superintendent. Ultimately, my job isn’t to select a person for your BOCES but rather to help guide processes to assist the Board in making its decision.
Questar III BOCES is moving forward with its search for a new district superintendent to replace James N. Baldwin, who retired from public service in mid-September.
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the completion of the new Tech Valley High School, which focuses on providing students with a solid foundation in science, technology, engineering and math skills, which are increasingly important as New York continues to expand its leadership in the development of next generation technologies. Located at the Albany NanoTech Complex, the school is the result of collaboration between Tech Valley High School and the SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering /SUNY Institute of Technology. Over 140 students are enrolled for the Fall 2014 semester, with the freshman class at capacity.
