More than 30 students, teachers and faculty from Tianjin, China arrived in the Capital Region to foster a better understanding and knowledge between U.S. and Chinese youth that will hopefully lead to a personal growth and even closeness between the two global superpowers.

Choices not easy in school mergers

With the goal of reducing costs and increasing opportunities for students, the Ichabod Crane and Schodack Central School Districts are participating in a Reorganization Feasibility Study.

The first phase of the study began in May 2011 with the creation of a Community Advisory Committee. This group of 30 residents, representing each community equally, has met every few weeks to examine data about the districts and provide input for each district’s Board of Education.
